Covid-19 Guidelines For The Building And Construction Industry Victoria
prefabAUS is proud to be a signatory to the COVID-19 Guidelines for the Building and Construction Industry in Victoria on behalf of the prefabrication construction industry. The Guidelines have been adopted and agreed by the Victorian Building and Construction Unions, Employer and Industry Associations of which prefabAUS is one.

China Prefab Fair 2020
As one of the biggest prefabricated building fair, every year PMMHF displays a most comprehensive industry chain and the cutting-edge products. For the 2020 show, PMMHF will receive 350+ exhibitors on a 32,000 sq.m show floor. Among all concurrent events, Global Prefabricated & Industrialized Building Development Summit 2020 is the most attracting one for its excellent speaker lineup and wonderful speeches.
New prefabAUS Talks speaker announced for November!
For our next prefabAUS Talks we will be welcoming speaker Rick Holliday, Chief Executive Officer of Factory_OS, San Francisco. After successfully trialling modular elements from other manufacturers in his apartment projects, Rick decided to establish a factory to manufacture volumetric housing modules. Almost immediately Factory OS was approached by Google to build 300 apartment units for Google employees.

Sydney Build Expo 2020
Sydney Build is part of Oliver Kinross's Build Series, also taking place in London, Chicago and New York. First launched in 2016, the expo is dedicated entirely to building and construction opportunities in Sydney and its surrounding regions.
David Chandler OAM Appointed NSW Building Commissioner
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the appointment of Mr Chandler was part of the NSW Government’s commitment to implementing the biggest overhaul to building laws in the State’s history.

Concerns over how to deal with the leftovers from our building activities are not new. In the early 2000’s Cradle To Grave (C2C) thinking essentially envisioned the substitution of toxic base materials with more environmentally friendly ones. C2C and other concepts such as “Zero Waste” have held currency for some time, but now thinking is turning to the term ‘Circular Economy’ (CE), an approach that envisions buildings as repositories of value, with potential implications for offsite construction.
PRISM App launched by London Mayor/Cast Consulting
In London last week at an event attended by 140 people, Cast launched a new digital app that it has been working on for the last 20 months. Developed in partnership with Bryden Wood, PRISM is the first web based app in the world operating on an open source basis and supported at a city government level.

The UK Government launched a cross industry working group tasked with supporting the mortgage finance, insurance and valuation communities in better understanding and supporting the greater use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) across residential development.
