Prof. Tuan Ngo, Research Director - ARC Training Centre for Advanced Manufacturing of Prefabricated Housing (CAMPH), University of Melbourne
Prof. Tuan Ngo is the Research Director at the ARC Training Centre for Advanced Manufacturing of Prefabricated Housing (CAMPH) at the University of Melbourne. He is also the Director of the Asia Pacific Research Network for Resilient and Affordable Housing.
Prof. Ngo specialises in research related to design and manufacturing of sustainable building components and systems using high performance materials. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded significant research collaborations with industry to develop new building products and performed experiments on many prefabricated modular building structures.
Most recently, Prof. Ngo has been working on critical infrastructure projects to protect buildings against extreme events, such as blasts, impacts and natural disasters. He has also been leading the research and development of advanced protective materials and systems for various companies in the civil and defence sectors.
Prof. Ngo’s is highly regarded as an expert in offsite construction within both the industry and the scientific community. He is the proud recipient of several awards, including the prestigious Eureka Science Prize for Outstanding Science in Safeguarding Australia in 2013, plus the Safeguarding Australia Award for Best Contribution to National Security Technology Research in 2011. He has also published more than 400 journal articles and conference papers.
