Peter Nelson has over 20 years’ experience in Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design across the public and private sectors as both a client and consultant. As an urban designer for Tract Consultants in Darwin, senior project manager at the National Capital Authority in Canberra and Place Management Team Leader at Logan City Council, Peter has been involved in the delivery of a number of award-winning urban renewal projects across Australia. Since 2017 as a principal adviser to the Queensland Government Architect, Peter has helped deliver 20 social housing demonstration projects. These projects build on the ideas that came out of the Density and Diversity Done Well competition run by the Office of the Queensland Government Architect in 2017. The competition sought new ‘missing middle’ housing ideas for Queensland to meet contemporary community, urban and environmental challenges.
